Whilst I won't pretend to grok string theory, the idea of actually being a one-dimensional extended object, or even a collection of one-dimensional extended objects feels a bit strange.
Being composed of totally-antisymmetric composite quantum states however does appeal to me at some level.
Photographs on this blog are generally taken by myself, when they are not I'll place a credit to the appropriate photographer.

I would vote for the catseye, myself - not only because James May is plumping for it, but also because it's the only real life-saver up there.
